One of the best things you can do to help maintain your carpet in between cleanings is to vacuum. To get the most out of your vacuuming, keep the following in mind:

  1. Vacuum a minimum of once a week! 2-3 times is better. Why?You want to keep debris, dirt, and sand from grinding in to your carpet. That “grinding” can reduce the “life” of your carpet;
  2. Use your vacuum’s edging tool around the edges each time you vacuum. Normal vacuuming is good, but your vacuums base cannot reach the dust & dirt that filters in and collects in the crevice in between the carpet and base boards. If not vacuumed out of the crevice, this dust can collect to cause the dark edges around your carpet. There is very little that can be done once the dark filtration sets-in;
  3. Have your vacuum serviced. The routine cleaning, servicing, and belt changing can help ensure your vacuum not only lasts longer but works to it’s optimum capacity;
  4. Buy the best vacuum you can afford.

Following these tips can help maintain your carpet, and keep your vacuum running well.
